Day 2: (Saturday) Magersfontein Battlefield & Mokala National Park

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the Savoy Hotel. After your breakfast travel to the Magersfontein Battlefield situated outside the city of Kimberley. The Magersfontein Battle was a short and furious battle, and although many lives were lost, this battle has an interesting story attached to it. A story of bravery, respect, empathy and compassion. Learn more at the museum.

Continue afterwards to the Mokala National Park, conveniently situated only 75 km southwest of Kimberley. Mokala is South Africa’s latest National Park and was proclaimed in June 2007. The isolate hills give the place a calming feeling of seclusion. You will have the opportunity to participate in guided game drives with experience rangers. The Savoy Hotel will provide you with a lunch box, so you can take in every detail of your surroundings. Enjoy one of the organized game drives.

Should you come back in the early afternoon, visit the Mc Gregor Museum (open until 17h00). The Museum, located in a historic building provides interesting exhibits of Natural History, Kimberley legends and political life.
